Quite often we are told not to judge our neighbor. That to do so is rude, that we should mind our own business, and that it isn’t very ‘Christian-like’ to judge people. And while it is true that we should not be harsh or hypocritical towards others, we forget that Scripture also says that we should correct and guide. Still, why is it that we always focus on the negative when we could be working towards the positive? As friends, we should not be so focused on fixing the bad in others while neglecting the good. That is why the Scriptures tell us to encourage and strengthen each other in the faith.
Therefore, encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:11 ~
Sure, we may not be tearing down our brother, and we might not be causing him harm; but if we are not encouraging him, then we are not doing him any good either. That is why Pail reminds us to strengthen one another in the faith, which unfortunately, we do not do often enough. I myself not to tear other down, for I know how hurtful it is when other do it to me. And yet I still forget to say king words, though I know the joy and comfort they bring. My charge is that I, along with my fellow Christians, strive to build each other up in the faith, as well as those who do not believe, in order that we all may grow closer to and like Christ.
