About the Author

Follower of Christ, wife, mother, author, and friend. I want to encourage, inspire, and educate people through all my work, and especially through my writing. Most of all, I want to point people to Christ with the gifts He has given me.

Hello and welcome!

I am Madelyn Craig, and I am so happy to have you on this journey with me!

Let me begin by sharing my story. I am a Christian and wife first, apologist and writer second. My alma mater is Concordia University-Ann Arbor, and I graduated with a Bachelor’s in English with a minor in Art. I love to do research, especially within the fields of history, science, literature, art, and Scriptural studies. If I am not writing, I am probably taking care of my family, reading, playing music, or painting some new landscape. If housewife counts as a career, I could ask for nothing better to pursue in life as a Christian woman. My goal in life, together with serving my family, is to live a life worthy of my calling in Christ by using my gifts to the glory of God. Yet God has also called me to other things outside of my home life, and that is writing and sharing that work with others.

Perhaps like most people, I was what I wanted to be even as a child, but I didn’t know it. I loved to write. I mostly wrote stories, invariably involving various animals and mainly dragons, and I loved to write about topics that mattered. I would fill countless notebooks with my musings, ideas for future stories, and topics that piqued my interest. Somewhere along the way, I started to hate writing. I know, right? If you would have asked me if I wanted to be a writer at certain points in my life, I would have laughed at you!

But along the way, this love slowly grew in my heart and I kept writing. I was encouraged at one point to start a blog, the precursor to my current site. While I was not always all that good at it, and my proofreading left something to be desired, I kept at it. By the time I started my college career, I had built up a sizable number of articles and papers, a portfolio that grew exponentially during my years studying English.

Here I finally got the training I needed and the encouragement I craved. During this time, I started really going after my dream of writing a book. I already had a collection of research papers, blogs, and short stories. In fact, I have written and am currently working on a collection of short stories that are often allegorical in nature, although I also include historical or autobiographical stories as well. But I wanted to write a book on apologetics. Now I had already outlined and begun to draft one book. But it just was not right. That is when I landed upon the idea to write my book Names, Nations, and the New Testament. This is my prize project. This book discusses the Table of Nations (Genesis 10), its relation to the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2), and the connection of all people both genetically and spiritually (Acts 17:26, Ephesians 3:6). You can learn more about my book here. I hope you will join me as I continue to explore new worlds of writing both in fiction and nonfiction!

This world is one big story. Each of us has a chapter in it – our own storyline. And every now and then, it is nice to share it with others. You never know who may need to hear it. Christ is the Potter, and we are the clay. He may shape us one way; we may become marred by our mistakes. But that doesn’t make us worthless, because He thought that we were worthwhile to die for. Our stories may have places where we have stumbled, but that does not make our story over with. So here I will often share tidbits about my life, my writing or reading journey, or other tidbits I think would be edifying.

I pray that this site is a blessing and encouragement to you. Thank you for giving me some of your precious time.

Blessings to you and yours,
~Madelyn Rose Craig
