Happy New Year!

Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and Happy Epiphany! Yeah, I’m a little late to all of those, but I have been away for the last week or so. And what a time it has been! I got to attend Christmas services, spend time with most of my family and my husband’s family, and celebrate our anniversary. It was a great time, and I am grateful that we got a chance to take a break and just enjoy each other’s company.

A lot of other things happened in that time as well. I received my first royalty payments from my book, I connected with many other new authors and readers, and I started to get more of an idea of where I want to go with my next book. Again, I don’t want to say too much about it until I flesh it out a bit more, but I will share it with all of you as that process moves along.

Book writing is a long venture (for me, anyway), and I don’t like to rush it. I was initially hoping to get it down before the end of this year, but with a lot of changes coming up in my family’s life – most importantly, we’ll be welcoming a little boy in March! – I think it would be best to project this next book’s completion near the fall of 2022. And that’s ok! I don’t know about you, but I definitely would rather a well-done book that took a little longer than an okay book sooner. But I’m looking forward to getting back into the swing of writing soon now that we’re home and I can focus again (at least, I can for the next month and a half!).

As I write this next book, I plan to keep up writing for The Lutheran Column (I’ve shared a few of those posts here), keep writing reviews, and sharing with all of you my thoughts here!
I pray that you all may be kept safe during this time and that the Lord would bless you.

Until next time,
~Madelyn Rose Craig
