Living Freely for Christ

Although we have been set free by God’s grace, this does not give us a free pass to do whatever we want. Our God is just and a God of order. We are not called to blend in with the world, but to stand out from it. To live in the world, but as aliens in a foreign land. If we continue to indulge our sinful nature, we are no better off than those without Christ, and are in fact, living in opposition to the life that God has called us to.

You, my brothers, were called to be Free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in Love. Galatians 5:13

God has set us free by His death and resurrection, thus, we should not abuse such a gift. Instead, we should show gratitude to Him by living the life He has called us to: separate of the practices of the world, and loving one another. If we continue to live in the sinful nature, it will be as though we do not believe Christ has saved us at all. Unbelievers will see no reason to follow Christ, and we will fall into temptation all too frequently. On the other hand, if we resist the devil, dwell in God’s word, and serve others instead of harming them, we will be on the path to following Christ and starving the evil desires of the flesh. Christ died for us, the least that we can do is live for Him.
